Paper Plane

A Paper Plane has a special place in my heart; not only is it a modern variation of the beloved ‘Last Word,’ (which is equitably delicious) the ingredients are equal parts. You’d think this cocktail would’ve been around as one of the classics, but it’s actually fairly contemporary. It was invented in 2008 by Sam Ross, an award-winning bartender and the co-owner of Attaboy and Diamond Reef in New York City.

Ingredients:

  • ¾ oz lemon juice

  • ¾ oz amaro nonino

  • ¾ oz aperol

  • ¾ oz bourbon

Directions:

In a cocktail shaker, combine lemon juice, nonino amaro, aperol, bourbon and ice. Shake vigorously for thirty seconds until chilled. Double strain into a chilled coupe glass and garnish with a lemon twist.
